The British Retail Consortium is the lead trade association representing the whole range of retailers, from the large multiples and department stores through to independents, selling a wide selection of products through centre of town, out of town, rural and virtual stores.

　　英國零售商協(xié)會（ British Retail Consortium），簡稱BRC。是一個重要的國際性貿(mào)易協(xié)會，其成員包括大型的跨國連鎖零售企業(yè)、百貨商場、城鎮(zhèn)店鋪、網(wǎng)絡(luò)賣場等各類零售商，產(chǎn)品涉及種類非常廣泛。

　　1998年，英國零售商協(xié)會應(yīng)行業(yè)需要，制定了BRC食品技術(shù)標(biāo)準(zhǔn)（BRC Food Technical Standard），用以評估零售商自有品牌食品的安全性。目前，它已經(jīng)成為國際公認的食品規(guī)范，不但可用以評估零售商的供應(yīng)商，

　　同時許多公司以其為基礎(chǔ)建立起自己的供應(yīng)商評估體系及品牌產(chǎn)品生產(chǎn)標(biāo)準(zhǔn)。該標(biāo)準(zhǔn)發(fā)布后不久，很多其它行業(yè)的組織發(fā)現(xiàn)了該標(biāo)準(zhǔn)的借鑒價值，將其發(fā)展并延用到各自的行業(yè)標(biāo)準(zhǔn)中。隨著食品標(biāo)準(zhǔn)的廣泛實行，BRC還發(fā)布了其它全球性標(biāo)準(zhǔn)，如消費品標(biāo)準(zhǔn)（Consumer Product Standard）、食品包裝標(biāo)準(zhǔn)（Food Packaging Standard）等。
